Discipleship

Discipleship is the lifelong process of growing in our Life in Jesus. This process is the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives; teaching us through God's Word and leading us to connect others to Jesus.

At Brookfield Lutheran Church, there are several education and ministry opportunities to help you in that process.

Growing in Knowledge

We encourage you to read the Bible and be engaged in studying God's Word, which is critical to sustaining a healthy Christian life.

  • Sunday Morning
  •
  • During the Week
  • Precommunion Training
  •  Membership Class
  • VBS
  • Library
  • Lutheran School Partnership

Kids

Kids age 3 through 4th grade are invited to come and grow as disciples in the Kingdom. All kids register at a kiosk in our building. Each week, you will check in as family and print off matching nametags for a secure pickup. The fun starts when they get to their rooms and meet with their wonderful shepherds and teachers.

Youth

Students in 5th-12th grades join in faith community to be encouraged, challenged and connected to Life in Jesus. Each level of discipleship study is led by a Master Teacher who presents a key faith point based from Luther’s Small Catechism and the Bible. Then students are connected in small groups with an adult leader to engage in life application and prayer. A mission trip and service projects are also strong parts of the program.

Adults

We also provides an open and nurturing environment for adults to grow in the Word. We hope to encourage and equip adults so that they mature in their faith and better live a life of worship.

There are multiple weekday small group Bible studies. New participants are always encouraged to join at any time. Some studies run for a specific length of time and others are on-going.

The library supports the mission of Brookfield Lutheran Church in its teaching, preaching and evangelistic efforts through the use of books, magazines, DVDs, videos and other media. The library helps individuals develop a better understanding of their faith and their full potential as children of God and workers in His Kingdom.

BLC's mission to connect people to life in Jesus is deeply rooted in our belief that faith nurturing takes place primarily in the home
but also extends to church and school. In order to support that belief it is essential to not only equip parents to teach faith in the
home but provide assistance to parents who want to send their children to a LCMS Lutheran day school or homeschool. We
value our relationships with our local LCMS schools to support Christian education.

Please contact our church office for further information and forms.

Growing in Community

God gives each of us unique life experiences so we can play a unique role in the Body of Christ - the church. We encourage you to be involved in ministries that match those God-given life experiences. Through shared interests, beliefs, values, and backgrounds, God works to form a genuine community of individuals and families that have a heart for relationships that last.

  • Kids and Student Discipleship
  • Life Groups
  • Sports Ministry
  • Mom's Connection
  • Men's Ministry
  • Faithful Friends in Fellowship

We encourage our kids and families to partner with all of the various youth group  programs and activities as a fun, dynamic, engaging way of bringing others to begin or deepen a relationship with Jesus. Our Kids and Student programs also strive to connect youth to Christian adults who care for them and are invested to mentor and guide the growth in their faith walk.

Leaders and youth gather to build relationships with Christ and each other. Lessons focus on realistic applications of Scripture to everyday life.

Connecting People to Life in Jesus through Life (Home) Groups

Through Life Groups you are invited to share the love, truth, and hope that come to all through faith in Jesus Christ. Life Groups exist to nurture that relationship with Jesus Christ and to help grow His disciples. Growing in a smaller community setting with Christ at the center can be transforming!

There are three areas of emphasis for each Life Group:

  • Connecting with Family— Life Groups are where Christ centered love and care for one another happens.  These are friends that you can grow, laugh and serve with.
  • Connecting with God—Through reading and discussing the Bible, the group grows in discipleship, growing as Jesus’ disciples in everyday life. – Through prayer and worship the group connects with God and expresses care for one another.
  • Connecting with Community—Home groups are encouraged to be purposeful in outreach by serving the physical, emotional, or spiritual needs of others. Service projects can be done by the group together or by individuals in their normal everyday life situations.

If you would like to get connected with a Life Group please contact Tony Cizel

Sports Ministries provide a great opportunity for developing relationships with a variety of individuals. We welcome guests from the community as well as members to participate.

Fostering Growth in Parenting and Wholeness as Women

Mom's Connection is a Biblically-based parenting program designed around the Titus 2:4 concept of older women teaching and encouraging younger women in their relationships with their husbands and children.

If you are a mom with children from infancy through adolescence, please join us. Our mission is to:

“… educate, encourage and equip women for the most important job in all the world – parenting."

Through practical, teaching on parenting from our core curriculum and guest speakers, as well as through small group interaction guided by “Titus 2” women after the Titus 2:4 Biblical model, we foster growth not only in our parenting skills but in our wholeness as women - intellectuallyrelationally and spiritually.

Mom's Connection is “seeker friendly,” progressing from universally held “felt needs” of moms to gradually deepening spiritual foundations. The program is designed to allow entrance into it at any part of the series, so new members are always invited.
