Are you in the midst of a career change?  In these days of heightened job uncertainty, many of us are either seeking new employment or know someone who is. Are you thinking about changing careers?  Did you know there are support programs to assist with this exact transition in life?  Brookfield Lutheran Church offers a ministry called Crossroads Career Network.  This program helps you discover your talents and calling in life and helps you match these with a career. 

Whether you are unemployed, underemployed, miserably-employed, nervously-employed – in school preparing for work or in retirement returning to work – God has a plan for your career and Crossroads Career Network at Brookfield Lutheran can help. This is your invitation to maximize your career by hearing and following God’s calling.  Through the nationwide program Crossroads Career Network, we are able to offer you the following resources: 

Christ-centered Career Groups (C3G)

Gain employment tips, advice, encouragement and accountability during your career search.  Topics include “LinkedIn Advice,” “The 7 Areas of Achievement” and “Encouragement During Unemployment.”

C3G meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and is held in six-week sessions, several times a year.  Our 2010 schedule:
• February 4 – March 11
• April 15 – May 20
• October 7 – November 18

Career Explorers Courses

New for 2010, Crossroads is offering our well-known Career Explorers Course as an Adult Sunday School course.  Using a 6-step program, the Career Explorers Course is basically a college course on how to find a job.  Covering topics such as the emotions with a loss of employment, resume writing, career assessment, interview skills and negotiating salaries, the Careers Explorers Course will equip you with the tools to find not just a job – but God’s perfect plan for your career. 

Career Explorers Course will begin April 11 at 10:45 a.m.  Contact us to register.

Crossroads Career Network Resources

As a part of Crossroads Career Network, Brookfield Lutheran is connected to a nationwide ministry with exceptional resources for those caught at a crossroads in their career.  These resources can be found online at www.crossroadscareer.org along with registration instructions for Brookfield Lutheran Church.  Apply as a Career Explorer using our churches ministry key: Jeremiah2911
