For the third year in a row, Brookfield Lutheran Church will be hosting a MobilePack™ event for Feed My Starving Children, a Christian non-profit organization which provides life-saving meals to people in 67 countries around the world. In 2009, 100,000 meals were packed at Brookfield Lutheran. In the second year, the number of meals was doubled. In 2011, the goal is to fill an entire container for the children of Haiti. This will require enough funds and supplies to pack 270,864 meals.
This year, with expenses rising from 17 cents per meal to 24 cents per meal, $65,007 needs to be raised by our event in September, 2011. Brookfield Lutheran members have already responded generously, raising nearly a quarter of the funds. But we need help from fellow Christian churches, organizations, the business community, and, yes, individuals like you to reach our goal.
