What’s the End Game

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..." - Colossians 3:16

Life in Service - Devotion 5

“A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another”  - John 13:34

As we move through our life in Jesus, taking God’s ground balls, we grow stronger and stronger. We continue to learn more about Jesus and because of that we tend to study more, serve more, focus more, reach out more, encourage more and become more of a disciple. Is there a final goal? How do we know when we have made it? It’s really very simple and Jesus addresses it head on in the scripture above. He suggests that the ultimate sign of discipleship is that we do all things in love including loving one another. For many of us, we have a lot more ground balls to take! But, we can remember that selfless service is part of the overall plan for our discipleship.

Dear Lord, may every act of service I perform be done with love so that all men will know that I am Your disciple. Amen.
