Aim to be Christ-Centered

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..." - Colossians 3:16

Life in Jesus Pathway - Devotion 5

The longest stride on the Life in Jesus pathway is moving from close to Christ into living a Christ-centered life. This means that Jesus is at the heart of everything. Jesus is the core who holds every segment of your life together. Christ can’t be contained in the religious segment any more. He gains access into everything.

A life with Christ at the center focuses on God and others. A Christ-centered heart is constantly thankful for the undeserved blessings received from the gracious hand of God. Difficult life circumstances are considered light and momentary by those hopefully looking ahead to everlasting life. “We demolish arguments and every pretention that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5. Paul writes these words as he reveals the heart of his ministry. His passion is to submit every last detail to the lordship of Christ. He is prepared to take on anything that stands in the way of knowing and loving God.

A disciple of Christ aims at living a Christ-centered life, but doesn’t get there alone. It takes the body of Christ working together for disciples to mature. For Christ to be the hub, we need each other.

Dear Lord, I praise You for the brothers and sisters You have placed in my life. May we together grow in our obedience to You. Amen.
