It's Between You and Jesus!

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..." - Colossians 3:16

Life in Jesus - Devotion 5

“God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful”. - 1 Corinthians 1:9

This is the confirmation verse my pastor chose for me many years ago. Little did I know it would become my life verse. When I received it I really wasn’t sure how it applied? It wasn’t one I had heard quoted that many times. Little did I know my pastor had the inside track to God’s plan for my life. I was called into fellowship with Jesus even before my birth when my birth mother decided to place me in a Christian home through adoption.

My life has not been horrible but it also hasn’t been easy at times. There have been many ups and downs. This promise, that was specifically given to me, has held true for 40+ years. I put my trust and confidence in it. It is the essence of my relationship with Jesus.

Do you have a favorite piece of scripture? What is your confirmation verse or life verse? How does it fit in with God’s mission and His calling on you, child of the King? If you haven’t ever taken time to think about this, now would be a good time to choose a life verse for yourself that really reflects your relationship with Jesus.

It’s quite a path we are on as we grow in our discipleship this fall. I pray your journey is amazing. I pray that as you look back on where you have been on your discipleship path, you praise God for the many ways he has worked in your life. I pray as you take time the next few weeks to think about where you are now on your journey you will ask God to reveal to you his plan for you in the kingdom. And lastly I pray that as you look forward on your path you see ways you can grow in your relationship with our Savior and King, Jesus and reflect His glory in our corner of the world. It is an exciting time. Enjoy the journey.
